This is quite possibly the best day of my life. It didn't start out so great. I was running late this morning and I couldn't find anything I needed. I was supposed to deposit my paycheck today, but I forgot it. I usually bring a change of clothes with me when I work at the Statehouse, but I forgot that too. Of course, I didn't realize any of this until I was halfway to work. sweatdrop
I got to work and covered my committee as usual. Then, something awesome happened. I was given an anonymous tip by someone in the know that led to a news story no one else knew about. Problem is, I'm not an *actual* reporter. I don't really know how to go digging about. No problem. My source helped me with that too. heart I did some asking around, and I found mahself the makings of a small scandal.
I rushed back to the office and told my boss all about it. Her eyes about fell out of her head. Everyone in the office was so jealous of me. All this and I've only been on the job for a couple of months. This is going to look so good on my transfer essay. As I was leaving, she was mulling in her mind the many ways she can corner a certain senator that hasn't been behaving himself.
In all the excitement, I had forgotten that I had no clothes to wear to school. Even if I do say so myself, I looked rather professional today. Still, I can't go to class looking like I should be the substitute. Who am I kidding? I'll take any excuse for an emergency shopping trip. I ran over to the mall and picked out an awesome hippie outfit from my other workplace. (I double as a major department store chain salesbitch.)
I am so happy right now. whee Not only did I have my first moment as a 8real* reporter, but I got a pretty pink outfit out of the deal too! (And sparkly silver sequined flip-flops. I can't forget the flip-flops.)
