Part 1- It isn't a mariage proposal, it's a fiance proposal.

When a guy gets down on one knee and opens up a box to give the woman of his dreams a shiney thing one usually calls it a marriage proposal.

The thing is, if you ask "will you marry me?" what you are really asking is "will you be my fiance"

And saying "yes" really means "I agree to wear the shiney thing and help you plan out the perfect place, the perfect day, the perfect dinner, and choose all the friends and family I want to be a part of watching us both agree to marry one another."

Part 2- Would this be cool, or get me slapped?

Imagine this. You, the love of your life (now known as Big L), and her best friend go to New York. You and Big L are walking along in Central Park at about 7 O'clock after a cool picnic dinner watching the sunset. A person in a mask pops out of the bushes and points a gun at you. mask person waves the gun telling you to get down on one knee. Then waves the gun, motioning for you to open your jacket. You pull out the box and turn to Big L and say "Will you marry me?" then after her "yes" Mask takes off mask and reveals self to be the best friend.
