I've gotten my hopes up again for somethinig I knew would not happen.
When I was younger my father had a habit of promising me really cool things: trips to Disneyland, a horse of my own, a boat and jetskis, etc. I always got my hopes up, and always my father fell through on his promises. To this day he's still promising to get a boat.
This time I got my hopes up for a phone call from Brandon. I knew better than to this because 1)he was very intoxicated when he said he'd call me and 2)we no longer have any semblance of a relationship. Well, like the little girl with my father, I waited all weekend for Brandon to call. When midnight rolled around I messaged him on MSN asking why he didn't call. Of course he didn't remember even talking to me. I was heartbroken like the little girl that was promised her very own pony.
I thought I learned not to get my hopes up like that. I have along way to go.
