Silver streaming through my window,
while I sit hunched on the edge on my bed.
Stringy hair hanging down,
covering my face from all who want to see.
I did what I had to do,
even though I know doubt my judgement.
So here I am, eyes staring blankly
at the wall, not comprehending what is going
on around me, next to me, behind me.
You gave me a good reason
and I accepted that, I really did.
But now, I am not so sure that the words,
those words you spun like a spell,
really meant anything at all.
Everyone looks down at what I did
and they whisper when they think I can't hear.
Tell me, was it a good reason?
I guess, there is nothing left to do
but move on and try to forget that just maybe
the reason you gave me,
the lies you told me were true,
were not so good after all.
And that the memories of you,
the ones that have me chained to this bed,
will slowly fade away.
