Cassandra, the Forsaken

Your eyes are full of violent scenes
a curse runs deep inside your genes
to violent death their actions lead
they laugh and smile and pay no heed

You speak of battle's scorching fire
to free yourself your last desire
your visions reek the stench of blood
on paths of night you always trod

You always knew you d be the one
that all your friends would gladly shun
on empty streets, you walk alone
your face is pale, and harsh like stone

Cassandra speaks again with pain
but no one hears what she is saying
they never did, they never will
her voice resounds, the echo shrill

Cassandra cries her warnings still
when armies come, to maim and kill
her curse a blaze that burns her mind
she will outlive, her kin, her kind

Cassandra weeps on crumbling walls
she mourns and screams as Troy falls
the cursed girl that foresaw death
is drawing now her last deep breath
