how could you
lie to me
while i cried to you
and cried away on you
my hurts sobbed into your shoulder
and what did you do
spun words to me
reassured me that all would be okay
you painted false pictures to see
what type of friend are you
companion to me
i who believed it all true
but the pictures i saw
it was all just a ruse
and the glass rose-colored too
what to say
except i clean my hands
and it is all through
with you
never to meet your eyes again
no words to be had
thoughts to be spoken
there are no goodbyes
gifts or tokens
memories of you
erased from my mind
and eventually after leaving
no more falsehoods and trying times
I will with time
be truly most fine
until time ticks away i will hide
and let not tears decide
what my mind and soul
already do know
that once we were friends
until all the lies began
at last i shall be free
of what was you and me
so long and farewell this day
every once I may dwell
on what may have been with you
and my last words that I say
deep down i hope and pray
you will finally break the ties
caused by all your lies
