    This is not the beginning
    Of some steampunk fantasy
    I never wanted
    To be a cog in this machine.

    Holding tight
    As I spin around
    Questions echo
    In my head without a sound

    Just an insomniac
    Waiting for my dream to begin
    Just waiting for a change,
    Though I never changed a thing.

    I always want the spotlight
    But I stand behind the scenes
    An unseen part...
    A cog in this machine

    What I want is not the end
    Just the end of the endless grind
    It's a truth that's hard to see
    As just one among the blind

    Searching for the truth
    I sleep with one eye open
    But I keep turning...
    I'm slowly being being broken

    This world I'm in
    It's far from some fantasy...
    If only I was willing
    To quit being a cog in this machine
