Because broken hearts are mended
Because pain and suffering in death are ended
Because hearts in true love are requited
I cry because unleashed anger would destroy
Because I’m now pleased and no longer annoyed
And I cry for dreams made not to retaliate
Against those persons we said we hate?
Why do I cry? Is it just to release salty tears?
Or is it to express the anguish of unfulfilled years?
