In "The Star Spangled Banner",
Francis Scott Key wrote that the U.S. was not only the land of the free,
but the home of the brave.
If this were true:
We'd be brave enough to live with people of a different immigration status
without having to fear that they're responsible for all drugs and crime.
Most come here for work.
Something some Americans tend to pass,
and just let homeless shelters take care of their lives.
Maybe we should trade those citizens for those who want to work.
This isn't the time of slavery no more,
so you may say trading is out of question,
but aren't we all just the government's slaves?
How can we be that culturally diverse country,
if everyone who comes here is Americanized?
They're forced to learn basic English.
Forced by the government to raise their right hand to give their trust,
when they're only giving their lives.
Our country is suppose to be unified.
How can we live in unity when they're dividing the illegals from the legals?
I guess in our government's thoughts,
dividing is the definition of “United”.
