Read this in memory of me:
Lands crumble far from your control
And oceans sway with no regard to the swimmers
The sun burns all in its path without mercy
Read this in memory of me
There is not an animal alive that is domestic
behind glazed eyes, a lion waits to strike
And secrets are never secret
as long as the trees can hear you
And the mountains can tell you stories
if you shut up for a moment and let them speak
Read this in memory of me
The wind is nothing more than my hands
brushing away the Summer's heat, to keep you cool
and the rain is me kissing you all over, like I used to
every static shock you receive is my exitement when I see you
and every papercut is my little reminder that I was real
Read this in memory of me
Dogs bark to make you look in my direction
and every creaking floorboard is me standing next to you
Every spontanious shiver is when I wrap my arms around you and squeeze tight
And the Sun isnt making you sneeze
it's just me kissing the tip of your nose
Read this in memory of me
I told you so many times I will always be here for you
and I am, even if you dont see me
I am around every corner, and in every shadow
I am resting in every drop of dew on every leaf
and I am painting pictures in the clouds to make you smile
I am the one that swirls smoke as it spirals toward the sky
Read this in memory of me
I have not died
I willfully abandoned the body to watch meteors race through the cosmos
I sit at the zenith of existance and laugh at the calamity
it is beautiful here
So please, don't cry for me
I am eagerly anticipating the day you decide to join me
so we can share this peace
we will finally stop chasing dreams
and instead, make them come true

- Wow. ^^ How beautiful. You really hit the mark with this one: you took a concept that could have been cliché and infused it with your own creativity and spark; you connected encompassing and vibrant thoughts with a solid repetition; you used the imagery of nature to imbue your thoughts with colour; and you made a sorrowful occurrence become something inspiring. I felt this poem sung true. 5/5
