Revenge:
I sat on your lap,
my eyes red from crying,
crying a sea of blood,
something boiled up inside me,
unmistakably,
something wrong,
it stung my skin,
curdling my blood,
searing my veins,
rage twisted my once graceful features,
claiming my body as it's prey,
I gladly accepted it,
I thought of you,
motionless,
acting as if nothing had happened,
you say you love me,
but in the same breath,
at the same instant,
you beat me,
you claimed your heart was mine for the taking,
at first I laughed,
but now I took you up on that offer,
I scowled down at your heart in my bloody hands,
smearing my white dress,
I traced your face with my fingernail,
grazing your cheek with my knuckles,
as if I was coddling you,
saw your irises punctured,
I kissed your bloody lips,
and walked away.

Description:
I decided to put this poem in the Arenas because pretty much everyone that visited my profile said it was great. This is a poem about a girl whose boyfriend swore he loved her than he would slap her around. She would try to give him chance after chance, but he would just hit her again.
If anyone who may be reading this poem is being abused by someone not just your boyfriend, don't take it. Tell someone. :) - Date: 04/23/2010
