The dust on the bookshelf
It only seems to stay put
Never moving, it just gathers
Gathers and gathers, eventually multiplying in number
Remember that old penny you left in that box upon the counter?
It stays alone
Never moving, it just rusts
Rusts and rusts, eventually starting to decompose
So fast does everything seem to die out
You lay down a knife
Fifty years later its worn and decomposed
But, you...
You never seem to age
As things pass you by
Family...
Friends...
Years...
You never seem to change
For well over five hundered years have you suffered the burden of the world
For well over five hundered years have you lost things you love
But, thats not even the worst of it all
For well over five hundered years...
You have never witnessed the beauty of the world
You have never witnessed waht makes us good
You have never witnessed light
