    I realized how much the past years meant to me

    The comfort of a parent trying to sooth
    I slowly accepted that it was my past
    That those good years could not last
    I took on the responsibility of a young adult
    Staying out of trouble, avoiding the cults
    I learned that all things had to end
    That there were broken things you could not mend
    That the finish is what made it unique
    The last games of hide and seek
    Taught me to cherish the good when it comes
    Whistling to the wind in melodious hums
