If I were to take your hand
Would you let go?
Or would you look me in the eye
And witness the sorrow
That forced me to touch you
I miss the feeling of your smile
Your gentle eyes looking deep into mine
Knowing that we would be happy
thinking that we would be happy
And eventually,
Doubting that we would be happy
forever.
Even at the end,
I realized that only someone
Who truly loved and understood me
Could let me go so easily
And only someone
Who I genuinely loved and very well may still love
could make me feel like I was trading my life away
All this time I’ve dodged your glance fearing a
look laced with hatred. But when I fail to
evade your gaze I find something
xenial in the way that it is generous in giving color to my cheeks
If you ever read this,
Know that I still love you
and when we catch each others eye
then look away
I want to scream your name
and then whisper my apology.
Its been waiting to dance off my tongue
ever since that day
the day I crushed you
And any chances of being happy
You’re probably so over me
I’m a grain of sand
scorching your passing feet
that run to find other fish in the sea
but still I’m whispering your name
hoping you’ll hear.
Hoping you’ll notice.
Hoping you’ll lift me from this depression
But a hope is as useless as this poem
