    I couldn’t feel

    Nothing

    There was no pain

    It was so long ago

    That I could feel the pain

    The way my heart hurt

    The emotion swirling through my very veins

    Slowly the pain dissipated

    Slowly my heart didn’t hurt

    Slowly there was no hurt

    Slowly

    Now it feels

    As though I have no heart

    Have no soul

    Now it feels like I’m empty
