We bring our lives out into the open
We study and watch and thrive
In the lack of sincerity that we're accustomed to
While we actually try to hide
We taste the lies on the tips of our tongues
We are so ashamed
Of everything that we refuse to admit
Because we're all so fake
We sing about love that we do not know
We rant about hate that we cannot grasp
As we continue on in our tolerance
Of this mocking life; for breath we gasp
We all look around at our neighbors
So ignorant of reality
Because we don't bother to take a moment
And accept some responsibility
We cry and blink back our tears of loss
We are all in the same situation
But we all choose to ignore that as well
We would rather keep up with our procrastination
We are blind
We are the generation of deformities
We are deaf and crippled
And we have our pretend individualities
We don't realize this simple truth:
You and I are the exact same
We would rather be uninformed than admit for once
That we are equally lame
We all prefer to be alone
In our little worlds of pain
There is no escape from the walls we've built
Not from these guilty iron chains

- Title: Hypocrites
- Artist: Only Becca
- Description: I was thinking a lot about hypocrisy; the hypocrisy of friends, family, leaders, rulers, even strangers on the street. We all like to believe that we are doing what is best for ourselves, our loved ones, but in the end we all end up making the same mistakes. I think the truly sad thing is that no one bothers to help anyone else, and we are all equally responsible for our lack of compassion.
