• The long awaited gaze
    Travels through the air
    Captured and received
    A motion no one dares

    “Goodbye,” they say
As if it is their last
    Moments in time recalled
    Burdens they have passed

    A parting sorrow
    Sour to the eyes
    The separate roads of freedom
    Rather friendship’s demise

    “Do not speak,”
    A third one states
    “Do not cry.
    These are our fates.”

    “Tender and bliss,”
    she goes on to say,
    “our futures will be.
We must go our own way.”

The two bow their heads in silence
    Morning their own loss,
    But the third begins again,
    “time is not our boss.”

    “Do not say goodbye,
    we will meet again.
    Proud and loyal still,
    Our friendship’s ‘till the end.”

    She pauses for a breath,
    staring at the two.
    Quick and cheap, she smiles.
    “Always- through and through.”

    “Do not say goodbye,
    goodbye is forever.
    Say hello and rejoice,
    and never say never.

    “Always with you,
    Always strong,
    For there is a reason
Our friendship has lasted so long.”
