Books, Books, all around
Words and pictures, knowledge abounds
If you ask him about emotion
He’ll say, “I’m too busy, too much commotion.”
Poor, poor scholar
He spent many a dollar
On books and learning
But cannot get what he is yearning
Time for change, time to live for real
He got a job, and can afford his meals.
He doesn’t miss them, not at all
“Books,” he said aloud, appalled.
Now he has a life and everything he wanted
Occasionally when he sleeps, he is haunted
By the books he once lived by
He wakes up and says,” I know why!”
He threw the books in the trash
“Hey, but they cost cash!”
Disregarding this thought, he went back to sleep
And now for once, he is at peace

- Overall, nice concept, pretty good. I would try to fit the rhyme and meter a bit better, because it sounds like it's trying a bit too hard in some of the places, and the meter doesn't fit sometimes.
