    It protects them from the light that harms them during the day

    It’s my time of the night; the moon is my shadow and is my savor
    The sun blinds as the moon gives me sight and shadow
    It comforts my soul as the moon and stars show up
    The cats cry and the dogs howl as I stare and look up and see that its midnight
    My eye close and I feel the moon welcome me with open arms and hugs of darkness
    The dark roses come out as I step into the dark
    Their petals fly out of their reach and land on my skin
    Looking at the darkness that is around I sleep with the memories you have given me
    Ever night is the same the with every thought of you
    This night was more precious and loving now that you are in it
    And the moon smiles down at us with hope and care
    Good night my love and let the darkness remained you of me, as it does to me
