• Someone has ripped the heart from my chest
    I stand wide-eyed,
And live long enough to see
The pool of blood surrounding me.
As I fall back I think about
    The times we shared,
And then before I close my eyes
I wonder if you ever cared.
    Death takes her time
Before she comes to my door,
Even though I'm not breathing anymore.
    Such a sharp pain,
I cannot see, nor feel, nor even be.
    Why can't you see
    The pain you're causing me?
When I finally hit the ground
    My eyes are dim,
    And my lips lie open
    And mutter words
That will ne'er make a sound.
