Soldiers on both sides
Citizens at heart
Their families and children
With whom they had to part
To fight a useless war
Senseless in the destruction
Caused by a few hot heads
In war rooms apart
Facing every day
With a terrified bravery
Risking their lives
For a gallant cause?
Shooting and bombing
For some kind of peace
Tearing up lives
For the greater good.
Those who suffer
Don’t care for bravery
Don’t care for gallantry
Nor for honour
To die for their country
Is one thing
To die for the greed of a few men
Is entirely another
Should they end this
Way of stupid senseless death
Or will it just be known as
A gallant death?

- I like it; at least, most of it. I don't believe in the whole die-for-your-country bullshit, so yeah, I agree entirely. I have actually written something on the same subject but totally different. Anyway well done :]
