the technical term for that "Distance effect" is DOF or depth of field.
the depth of field depends on the aperture, or F/stop setting you use for the photo. It has nothing to do with focusing.
its a good photo though, short depth of field is flattering for flower shots.

- oh its so cute! they look like snowflake flowers!!!!! *wonders if they smell like snow* ^w^ i luv the distance effect...i dunno what the technical term is. like how its in focus close up but outta focus in the background. i always like those shots. the title is just perfect! the bluish-white of the flowers and the dark chocolate brown of the stems...one of my fave colour schemes!6/5 4laugh
